July

Well, I'm finally writing another post.  Where has the month of July gone?  This summer is definitely flying by.  Anyway, I thought I would post some pics from July.  We've been busy with parades, fireworks, carnivals, and camping.  I like July in Utah, because of course everyone celebrates the 4th of July, but then we pretty much to the same thing all over again on the 24th!  The parades and carnivals aren't exactly the most fun thing for me (it's hot and slightly boring) but I like watching Aubrey have so much fun.  If she's happy, I'm happy!

My birthday was last week, and Mathis bought me an AWESOME SLR camera!  The best thing was it came with photography classes.  I can't wait to learn about my new toy!  Here's a couple pics from the new camera.

Kangaroo Zoo, Lagoon, and Fireworks

Here are some pictures from last weekend.  Aubrey had a fun day because we went to a birthday party at Kangaroo Zoo (a bouncing place), then later that evening we took her to Lagoon for a few hours, and then watched fireworks.  She yelled and cheered during all the fireworks.  She was naming every color she saw, and just having a blast!

Watching fireworks.  I have a video, but I can't get it on my blog.   The file size is too big, and compressing doesn't seem to help.  I'll have to figure out videos another time, and hopefully I can post them sometimes.

She's Potty Trained!!

Well, yesterday was Aubrey's "potty day,"  and she had a rough start, but then she caught on.  At first she was refusing to wear underwear, and refusing to pee.  She held it forever, but finally she got the hang of it, and by the end of the day things were much better.  Today is her second day.  She had one accident first thing in the morning, but that's it.  She's pretty much potty trained after one day!  Yay!  I read the book, "Potty Training in less than a Day,"  and it really works!  You have to do everything that it says, and its pretty detailed about some things, but one day for potty training is awesome!  I've been taking Aubrey in the car and to a friend's house today, and she hasn't had a problem! So, I highly recommend the potty training in one day method.  

Oh, and a funny little story about Aubrey...  Last night, she was sitting in her big girl underpants, when she gasped and got a real worried look on her face.  She grabbed my arm and said, "what' wrong with my naked bum...what's happening?"  She was wiggling all over the place, then she kept repeating, "it's trapped, it's trapped!!!!"  I was thinking, "what the heck?" but I looked at her and figured out her problem.  The diagnosis: she had a wedgie.  :)  Good thing my daughter doesn't overreact, right?
