June Overview

     Oops, a whole month has passed, and I didn't do any blogs.  This happened last time I was pregnant too.  I'm just tired all the time, and trying to keep up with everything else, so the blog often becomes last priority (as it probably should be).
     We've been keeping busy though.  Aubrey had to adjust to not having anymore preschool for the summer.  She really loves school!  She's staying busy with gymnastics and swimming lessons over the summer, then when it's fall, she'll be in dance class and possibly soccer (gymnastics and swimming will end).  I have to be careful with her, because she would be happy as a clam to have TONS of classes all the time.  She's a busy-body for sure, but I don't want to overbook my four year old.  She needs to be a kid, so we just try to find a balance.  She's also working on memorizing the Articles of Faith.  So far she's learned the first 4 in the last 2 weeks.  She's doing good!
    Austin is also learning lots of new things all the time, too.  He's a little chatterbox like his big sister.  He doesn't say quite as many real words as she did at this age, but he's constantly babbling.  His favorite thing is to go "bye-bye."  He grabs a shoe then sits by the door saying "bye-bye" until we acknowledge him.  He loves to laugh and play with his big sister.  He runs EVERYWHERE!  He never wants to sit still.  I have two children who are CONSTANTLY on the go.  They never seem to run out of energy!  I've pretty much given up on the idea of ever having a mellow child.  I'm sure the next baby will be just as much of a fireball as his siblings!  We'll see! Aubrey's a four-wheeling junkie!  She loves our camping trips all summer!

Here's Aubrey right before her first dance recital.  She did a cute little dance to a song called "The Cat in the Hat."  She did good!

She LOVED the flowers!  Although, now she thinks I need to keep her bedroom stocked with fresh flowers all the time.  Hmm...probably not going to happen...

Aubrey's Preschool Graduation

So, Aubrey had a little graduation ceremony from preschool (which was actually a couple weeks ago, but I haven't posted yet).  She still has one more year of preschool, but they do this every year.  It was cute.  The kids sang songs and danced a little. They also made those cute little tie-dye shirts.  So here's some pics of our little graduate.  One year of school down...and a whole bunch more to go!  Way to go Aubrey!

Baby #3!

By know pretty much has heard the news that Mathis and I are expecting baby #3, but I just haven't got around to putting it on my blog yet.  I'd say that's definitely blog-worthy information, so here's an ultrasound of the little peanut!  Everything is going well.  Baby looks healthy, and at this point the chance of miscarriage is like half a percent, so I'm not worried anymore.  As for me, I've been sick.  Really sick.  Really exhausted.  It's all good though.  Comes with the territory...AND I always welcome those dreaded pregnancy symptoms, because it's comforting to FEEL pregnant when I'm worried about miscarriage.  Although, I'm going on nearly 3 months of morning/all day sickness.  I get the point.  I'm pregnant.  If the symptoms could ease up just a little, I must say, I wouldn't complain. :)  

      Anyway, we're all excited!  Aubrey has her heart set on having a baby sister, so I'm a little worried about her reaction if we find out it's  a boy.  At this point she swears she will "nevew, evew love another little boy...only Austin!"  She'll change her tune though, I'm sure.  So she's keeping her fingers crossed for a girl, and if I had to guess what I think this baby is, I would probably guess girl.  But that's just a guess...I really don't know.  We'll see! Oh, and the baby is due on Christmas.  This will definitely be the best Christmas ever this year!

Aubrey's New Toy!

I've been wanting one of these for the kids for a while, but I've been trying to find a used one on KSL, since they are MUCH cheaper that way.  However, they are REALLY hard to get!  I've been calling on swing sets for a couple months now, and they all sell out within hours (unless they are overpriced or a piece of junk...in which case I wouldn't want it anyway).   I just happened to look online right as this play set was posted, so I called the seller, and got to her house within 45 min, then paid for it 5 minutes before someone else got there to buy it.  Yay!  Aubrey loves it, and Austin has a lot of fun on the slide, and on his little baby swing.  

We put Aubrey's little playhouse that she already had next to the swing set, and we'll stain it red eventually, so it matches with the big one.

My Awesome Mom!

Here's a picture of an oil painting my mom just painted for me!  I love it!  She's been painting for years, but with 6 kids, her art was understandably put on the back burner.  Now she's painting again and I'm so excited, because she gives me awesome paintings like this one! Right below it is the picture she based the painting on.

Aubrey likes the painting too! ...And of course, since Grandma drew a picture of Aubrey, she had to draw a picture of Grandma.  What a budding little artist she is! ;) Here they are, holding their portraits. :)

He walks!

Yup, it's official...Austin is walking!  He has been for a couple weeks now, but I haven't gotten around to posting it.  Anyway, here's a pic!

Letter to Elder Carlson

Aubrey asked if she could write a letter to her Uncle Brent who is on a mission in Sacramento.  She dictated to me what she wants to say, and I typed it word for word.  She definitely jumps from one topic to another, but her little letter was so cute!  I thought I would post it, just for a little laugh! Here it is:

"Dear Brent,

I like to eat popcorn a lot.  And I love my mommy and daddy and baby brother.  I like to hug my baby brother a lot.  Sometimes my Mommy makes mistakes, like today when she dropped my strawberry.  But that's okay, we can get a new one.  I learn so many things at preschool that are lovely!  I learn about fruits and vegetables.  I like to stamp with stamps and color a lot.  I like to knock over blocks.  Me and my Mommy always play games together when Austin is asleep.  

        I watch Berenstein Bears.  That's a show on Sprout, and you can go to sproutonline.com to check it out!  Brent, I like princesses!  Do you like princesses? 

        You know, Austin makes funny faces a lot.  And, Daddy used to be a missionary.  He's a plumber now.  Brent, are you going to be a plumber after your mission?  Will you be back in 5 days? I really want to see you.  My mom says I will be 5 when you come home, but I just want it to be when I'm four.  But, I had a fun Easter with lots of candy in my Easter basket!!!  I like to watch shows.  I have a little screwdriver that's my size.  Have fun on your mission! I wonder why I don't dream about Brent?  I think I want to dream about Brent on his mission.  Okay, that's all I have to say!"

Austin is ONE!!!

Austin had his first birthday! What an AMAZING year it has been!  Austin has brought so much joy to our family, and I can't believe it's been a year already since he was born, but on the other hand, I couldn't imagine life without him.  We love our little buddy!  Okay, picture time!  Here's our little bouncing baby boy throughout the past year.  We love you Austin!
