Aubrey-isms

Here's another post about some of the cute things Aubrey has said over the past month. I'm sure they are more funny to me, because I'm her mom and also sometimes the funniest part is hearing her little voice and seeing her funny facial expressions. But here they are anyway :)

- Aubrey was getting worked up about something that wasn't a big deal. I said, "Aubrey, you need to chill out a little bit." She said, "No! I not chillin' out...I moody!"

- One day Aubrey was throwing a fit about getting her hair done, so she ran downstairs and got some candy out of the pantry. She handed it to me and said "this will make me stop crying."

- One morning Aubrey woke up a lot earlier than normal, and I was still tires, so I turned on a tv show and tried to go back to sleep while she watched it. Then she saw some candies on the night stand. She asked for one, then another, and another, and finally I got frustrated and said, "I'm trying to sleep!" Without any hesitation, she quickly snapped back, "I'm trying to EAT!"

- One morning Aubrey woke up with really bad breath. I said, "Aubrey, your teeth are dirty." She got all defensive and said, "it's not my fault, Mom...it's not my fault!" I didn't know she knew the meaning of not my fault. Apparently she does. :)

- The other day Aubrey said , "Yoo-hoo...are you there?" I thought, "since when do you say "yoo-hoo" Aubrey? Funny kid.

- A couple days ago I asked Aubrey who is running for president:
Aubrey: "Uh...Auby's wunnin fo pez-o-went."
Mel: "who else?"
Aubrey: "Oh right...John A-Cain and Rock O-Bama!"

- Aubrey asked me "What are you doin' Mommy?" "Are you hangin' out?"

- Yesterday Aubrey's tummy growled. Her eyes got really big and she gasped and said, "I had a baby in my tummy!!!"

- Aubrey went to the water park at Lagoon (Lagoona Beach).
Dad said, "Aubrey, where did you go today?"
Aubrey: "Uh... Goon-in-a-peach!"

Cozumel Pictures

Here's some pics from our dives. We didn't use the camera every time we went, so we don't have pics of all the cool things from the night dives. The sharks and eels either swam away quickly or hid under rocks, so no pics of those either, but here's a few.

These fish looked so weird! We saw a lot of those.

We're dorks! :)

It's hard to see the size of these fish from the pictures. This one was pretty big.

Here's a lobster.

The turtles were my favorite. We could swim right up to them, and there were a lot of them.

Some barracudas.

We saw a lot of groupers. They were like 4 feet long. Big fish.

The coral was BEAUTIFUL!!!

We're Back!

Last week was our Cozumel trip, and we just got back 2 days ago. It was so fun!!! It was hard to leave Aubrey, and I cried on the way to the airport, but she was fine the whole time. I was glad that she wasn't sad the whole time we were gone. Apparently, she never really asked for us until the very last day. She woke up that morning and said, "I miss my mommy and daddy." We were home a few hours later, so that worked out. We actually would have been home the night before, but got stuck with delays at the airport. It was a mess trying to get home! First the plane was delayed, then we finally boarded, and waited on the plane for like an hour because I guess they were waiting for some passengers. That didn't make much sense to me, but oh well. We finally started to go, when all of the sudden there was a big crash that shook the whole plane. The flight attendants went running down the isle to figure out what was going on. We were then informed that there was a truck underneath the plane! They said it rolled into us. So that's a first...our plane got hit by a truck! So, then it was back to the airport to wait for another plane. We were there for a couple hours and they finally said there was no plane until the morning, so we had to go to a hotel at 2:00am, then be up and ready by 7:00 am to get back to the airport. It was no fun, but we finally made it back home!

So anyway, Cozumel was beautiful, and the weather was sunny most of the time, but it wouldn't have mattered too much, because we spent all our time underwater. I thought we would dive a few times and then spend a couple days on tours, at the beach, sightseeing, etc. But, all we wanted to do was dive everyday. It was so fun! I'm gonna post some pics as soon as Aubrey goes down for her nap. I was really nervous for our first dive, but once I did it, I realized, there's nothing to be scared about. Then I was hooked. The ocean was so beautiful, and it was awesome to see all the fish and other animals. We saw sting rays, eels, octopus, all kinds of fish, sea turtles, and several sharks!! It's not scary though, because all the animals pretty much just leave you alone, and swim away. It was such a cool feeling to be scuba diving. We would swim over drop-offs that just went down for hundreds of feet. It felt like we were flying! I wanna go back already!
