We've had a good week!  Busy as normal.  Mathis still works lots of hours, and I'm realizing how hectic life can be with a 3 year old and a newborn, but it's all good!  We're happy! As usual, I'm posting pics of the kids.  This first one is Aubrey right after getting her hair cut at Cookie Cutters.  I could have trimmed it myself, but she really loves going to Cookie Cutters, so I let her go there.  They let the kids sit  in a little airplane or car chair, and each seat has its own DVD player, and lots of movies to pick from.  She had fun!

Here's Aubrey and Cindy at the zoo.  We all went there for Memorial Day.  It was busy, but fun! We have season passes to the zoo and to Lagoon this year, so Aubrey will have plenty to do all summer!

Here's some pictures I took of Austin today.  He's 6 weeks old now!  He's a fun little baby, although he certainly has his feisty moments. :)  He loves to be cuddled all the time to be in constant motion.  He's waking up about once every night, so that's not too bad. He weighs about 9.5 lbs, and I hear when babies reach about 11 lbs, they can sleep through the night.  So he's got some growing to do, but I like having little babies. They're sooo cute!!  I think he'll start smiling any day now.  Today he almost smiled a few times, but then just kind of opened his mouth instead.  It will be fun when he's laughing and cooing all the time!

Well, things are going good for our family!  We're getting used to life with two kids, and so far so good! Life is a little more hectic now, but that's to be expected.  I just can't go run all my errands as easily as I used to, but it still isn't way bad or anything.  I just get nervous that I'll get out in public and Aubrey will be cranky and disobey at the same time Austin is crying or hungry or something.  That would be stressful, but so far, Aubrey has been a really good listener while we're out. She's a good big sister!

Austin is almost 5 weeks old now!!  I can't believe how fast it has gone by!  Yet, at the same time, I can't imagine our family without him.  I love him soooo much!!!

Cute Boy!

A few days ago, we were watching American Idol.  Aubrey walked by the TV and saw Kris Allen singing.  Then she stopped and said, "That's a REALLY cute boy!!!"  Haha...I agree with you Aubrey!

Just another cute little story.  Sometimes when Austin cries, Aubrey will go over and say in a cute 'mommy-voice', "Oh, I'm sorry bud...I know buddy.  No fun!"  

Okay, I debated whether or not to add this, but I think I will.  This last week, Aubrey has finally noticed that Austin looks different than she does when we change his diaper. :)  She says that Austin has a "pointing-out bum." :)

Today Aubrey was cute.  We both went upstairs to get ready for her nap, and this is what we said:

Mel: "Aubrey, did you go potty?"

Aubrey: "No."

Mel: "Well go potty real fast, k?"

Aubrey: (tipping her head back and sighing) "Oh Mommy...why do you care 'bout this?"

Aubrey has been adjusting really well to having a  new baby brother.  She's very protective of him when other people are around.  She loves to hold him, and carry a doll around with her doing all the things with her doll, that I'm doing with Austin.  The first day that we got home from the hospital, she was really cute.  We had been home for about 15 minutes, and were relaxing in the living room.  All of the sudden she got excited and said, "Hey I have an idea!"  Then she ran out of the room, and came back carrying her old potty chair.  She plopped it in the middle of the room and said, "K, let's teach Austin to use the potty!!!"
